West Indies v England: Eoin Morgan to lead much-changed tourists squad in T20 series

The original squad's Covid bubble was compromised, but David Payne was named in England's replacement squad for the Pakistan series.

England will play five Twenty20 matches in the West Indies in January.

Four days after the final Test in Australia, no players will be involved in the tour.

The two uncapped players are George Garton and David Payne.

Chris Silverwood will take a break after the Ashes, with Paul Collingwood taking over as head coach.

Chris Jordan, Liam Livingstone, Tom Banton, and George Garton are in the squad.

Marcus Trescothick, who was an opener for England, will be with Paul Collingwood.

England lost in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup to New Zealand in October and November, but there are 11 players in the squad who were involved.

Left-arm bowler Tymal Mills and opening batter Jason Roy are both involved after recovering from injuries.

Garton was not in the Pakistan series because of England's Covid bubble being compromised, despite being in the squad against Sri Lanka.

In October, the bowler featured for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian premier league and is currently playing for the Adelaide Strikers in the Australian Big Bash League.

Payne has claimed 133 in 112 T20 games, while he has taken 54 in 47.

Phil Salt played in one-day cricket for the first time against Pakistan in July, and could make his international debut in T20 cricket.

The T20 World Cup in Australia will see a strong squad with some serious batting power and a balanced attack.

The World Cup is less than a year away and there will be increased opportunities for the squad in the absence of those players.

I have good memories of winning the World Cup in Barbados and I'm really looking forward to going back there with this squad to face a very good West Indies who will test all aspects of our skills."

The West Indies were knocked out of the World Cup in the group stage with one win from five games.

The five-game series starts on October 16th and is followed by a three-game Test series in March.
