Honor teases its first foldable, the Magic V

The Honor V will be the first foldable device from Honor, and an image of the device was shared on Weibo. Honor declined to comment on the Weibo post that says thefolding flagship is about to be released.

Honor has been open about its desire to release a foldable. George Zhao, the company's CEO, was interested in producing a foldable under the Honor brand, but he was concerned that the device would be too expensive for the younger market. In June of this year, it was reported that the company was developing a device that would use folding display panels from Visionox and BOE.

The Magic V could have an 8.03-inch folding inner display and a 6.45-inch outer screen according to a report from The Elec. That suggests a device that resembles the Z Fold devices from the same company, rather than the Z Flip that folds into a smaller phone. It is not clear how similar Honor's upcoming device will be to the Mate X2 from its former parent company.

Honor is the latest company to join an expanding list of companies that have either released or are planning to launch their own foldables. The Find N phone from Oppo was officially announced earlier this month, but more recently we have seen foldables from other companies. As well as Honor, it is rumored that Google is going to announce as many as two foldables of its own in the near future.
