Wizz Air acquires Norwegian Air slots for Gatwick expansion

Wizz Air has acquired slots from Norwegian Air for an undisclosed sum.

The UK arm of the Hungarian budget carrier will base four additional A320neos at the airport in the spring of 2022, with new routes to be announced in due course.

The airline will deploy a total of five aircraft at the London airport next year as it mounts a low fare challenge to easyJet and British Airways.

It has acquired a number of daily slot pairs from Norwegian Air.

Wizz Air Hungary will have more inbound flight opportunities as a result of the slots.
