Jordan Henderson: Liverpool captain concerned player welfare not taken seriously

Jordan Henderson has made 22 appearances for the team.

Jordan Henderson is concerned that nobody takes player welfare seriously.

The Reds will play five games within two weeks despite Covid-19 cases and injuries.

Despite a rise in Covid-19 cases, the premier league clubs decided to fulfill their festive fixture on Monday.

"I don't think people can appreciate how intense it is until they see it first hand," said Henderson.

He said that football is everything to them and they want to be able to perform at the highest level every time they set foot on the pitch. It is difficult to do that in this period.

The schedule was "absurd" according to the assistant manager of the Reds, while the boss of the Blues said he was having to take risks with his players' fitness.
