Lauren Boebert compared the shooting death of Halyna Hutchins on the set of "Rust" to the shooting deaths of Kyle Rittenhouse and Alec Baldwin.
Boebert brought up Baldwin when he was talking about the Second Amendment.
I am firm on the Second Amendment. It would be a shame to think that I wouldn't have an equal chance against the threats my office has received. Boebert said that people have the right to self-defense even if they show up with a firearm.
Boebert then went on to mock Baldwin for his interview with George Stephanopoulos in which he said the "trigger wasn't pulled" and praised Rittenhouse. I didn't fire.
I have to give it to Kyle and his team. Boebert said on Monday that they didn't say "Hey, look, we shot the guy, but we didn't pull the gun."
During her speech, Boebert continued to criticize Baldwin and Rittenhouse trial prosecutor Assistant District Attorney Thomas Binger, drawing comparisons between Rittenhouse and the Hollywood actor.
Boebert said that Kyle Rittenhouse did not do the Alec Baldwin scenario. "Pointing a firearm at a room full of people without even clearing the chamber, goodness."
Guns don't kill people. Boebert said that Alec Baldwin'sIgnorance does.
Rittenhouse was on trial for killing two people and wounding another at a Black Lives Matter protest in Wisconsin last year. He was acquitted of five felony charges in November.
The teenager has become a darling of the right, walking out on stage at the Turning Point USA event to an original theme song, accompanied by a fireworks display and a standing ovation. He met with former President Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago after appearing on Tucker Carlson's Fox News show.
On Tuesday, Fox Nation's Tomi Lahren rebuked Rittenhouse's lionization by the right, saying the teen's enthusiastic reception at the conservative event was not a good look for the conservative movement.
The co-host of "Outnumbered" thinks that we should not treat him like a celebrity.
