The Players' Tribune reported Tuesday that Kedon Slovis is transferring to Pittsburgh.
USC will always be a special place to him. I need to start a new chapter. I will be playing quarterback at the University of Pittsburgh for the next two years.

Pat Narduzzi welcomed Slovis to the team.

One of the reasons he switched was the chance to play with Jordan Addison.

I knew Pitt was the right place for me to keep developing into the best leader I can be, and I was so excited when Coach Narduzzi called. I am ready to win now, and I am seeing how hungry the players are for next season, that got me excited. There are a lot of talented players coming back. The guy who just won the Biletnikoff is going to get to throw the ball to him. That is something you don't pass up. The culture and identity created by Coach Narduzzi is what I want to be a part of.

He'll be trying to replace Kenny Pickett, who threw for 4,319 yards, 42 touchdown and seven interceptions and added 241 yards and five scores on the ground. He was the leader of the team that won the Atlantic Coast Conference title this year and was going to face Michigan State in the Peach Bowl.
While Pickett was one of the best players in college football this season, he saw his career at USC take a different path. Injuries and the emergence of Jaxson Dart limited him over the past two seasons, as he threw for 3,502 yards, 30 scores and nine picks as a freshman.

He was 16-10) as USC's starter.

"You don't plan for things like injuries, or having to navigate a season with Covid and so many unknowns," he wrote. I didn't go as planned during the rest of my time at USC. We didn't win all the games we wanted to, but there were obstacles. I gave everything I had to this team over the last three years.

Kedon is going to Pitt. We don't know what conversations he had with Lincoln Riley, so hopefully this is the best move for both of them.

It wasn't a huge shock that Slovis is transferring because of the fear in Norman that a star freshman could follow in the footsteps of Lincoln Riley. It's a big addition for Pitt, which will look to build on its successful 2021 campaign, while Dart remains the presumed starter for the USC.
