‘The guy should be fired on the spot’: Fauci rebukes Fox News host over violent rhetoric

You have to get the kill shot. The shot? With an ambush? It was deadly. Watters said that he doesn't see it coming.

Fauci, who is President Joe Biden's chief medical adviser and has served for 37 years as director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, described Watters' remarks as "horrible."

The only thing that I have done in the last two years is to encourage people to practice good public health practices such as getting vaccinations, wearing a mask, and being careful in public settings. There is a guy out there who says that people should be given a kill shot to ambush me. What craziness is there in society today?

Fox News defended Watters, saying that it was clear that he was asking hard-hitting questions to Dr. Fauci about gain-of-function research and his words.

Watters is a co- host of the Fox News weekday show "The Five" and the host of his own weekend show, "Watters' World."

Fauci has been targeted by Fox News hosts and Republican congressional lawmakers with inflammatory and personal rhetoric. He received armed security protection last April after online attacks by supporters of former President Donald Trump.

Fauci rebuked the network for not taking action against the host after she compared him to a Nazi doctor.

Fauci told MSNBC that she gets no discipline from the Fox network because they let her say that without comment and without action. I am astounded by that.
