According to the NFL Network's Tom Pelissero and Mike Garafolo, the Washington Football Team will start Gilbert at quarterback against the Philadelphia Eagles on Tuesday night.
Both teams are at 6-7 and are trying to get into the playoffs.

It's a tough spot for Gilbert, who has made just one start in his career and only seven appearances in total after being a sixth-round pick by the Rams in the 2014 draft.
Gilbert started for the Dallas Cowboys last season and was 21-of-38 for 243 yards, a touchdown, an interception and two sacks. The Cowboys lost. He's thrown for 283 yards, a score and a pick in his career.

He has spent most of his time in the NFL on the practice squad.
Washington only signed him on Friday. Kyle Shurmur will be his backup.
The game between Washington and the Eagles was originally scheduled for Sunday afternoon, but was postponed until Tuesday because of the WFT's COVID-19 outbreak.

The team had 20 players on the league's Reserve/COVID-19 list on Saturday, but several of them, including Jonathan Allen and Montez Sweat, have since been cleared to play.

Gilbert is tied for 30th with just 21 sacks on the year and will face a Philadelphia defense giving up 227.1 passing yards per game. The journeyman quarterback will be tested by the Eagles on Tuesday.
