After putting together his first signing class at Florida last week, Billy Napier added another piece to the puzzle by landing former Ohio State quarterback Jack Miller from the transfer portal on Tuesday.
Miller was a four-star prospect from Arizona and appeared in four games as a sophomore for Ohio State. He completed 7 of 14 passes.
Miller was accused of operating a vehicle while impaired. The transfer portal was opened three weeks after the loss to Michigan.
At Florida, Miller will bolster a quarterback room that will soon lose starter Emory Jones, who told ESPN on Wednesday that he plans to enter the transfer portal as a redshirt junior.
In his first season as the Gators' starter, Jones threw for 2,563 yards and had 19 touchdown passes. He ran for over 800 yards and scored four times for Florida.
Anthony Richardson was Jones' backup for most of the season and even started against Georgia. The dual-threat quarterback scored nine total touchdown in eight games and earned a spot on the All-SEC Freshman Team.
The Florida Gators will play the UCF Knights in the Union Home Mortgage Gasparilla Bowl on December 23.
