Washington Football Team to bring heated benches for final 3 road games

12:57 PM

The Washington Football Team copied a tactic the Dallas Cowboys used on them a week ago, having their benches shipped to Philadelphia for the game against the Eagles.

The Dallas Cowboys shipped the benches to FedEx Field because they heard from the Seattle Seahawks that the benches were losing heat during the game. The benches were shipped from Cleveland.

A source confirmed a report by NBC Sports Washington that the WFT will have benches shipped to Dallas and New York for its final two road games. The company that Washington will use to ship the benches is based in Cleveland. The Washington Football Team logos are on the benches.

The temperature will be in the upper 30s when the game starts.

Washington needs a win to stay in the race. Both teams are 6-7, a half-game behind New Orleans and Minnesota for the third and final wild-card spot.

Washington's main concern is at the quarterback. The top two quarterbacks, Taylor Heinicke and Kyle Allen, remain on the list. It's possible they won't know until 3 pm if they'll play. They will take a private plane from Virginia to Philadelphia.

If they can't play, then Gilbert would start. Gilbert was signed by Washington from New England's practice squad. He has started one career game and appeared in seven, giving him an edge over Kyle Shurmur, who has been on Washington's practice squad since September.
