Two people are in handcuffs after a fight with an officer.
At least two people were arrested after a fight broke out at the crowded Miami International Airport on Monday.
The flight was delayed for 12 hours before it was canceled.
One passenger took the keys to the airport transport golf cart, not allowing the officer present at the scene to leave the departure gate area.
In one of the videos, the passenger grabs the officer's arm to stop him from leaving. The officer put the man in a choke hold after he lunged at him.
The passenger is able to escape from the grasp of the officer as chaos breaks out.
In the video, the officer can be seen backing away, before appearing to pull out a weapon, prompting another person in the crowd to hold up their hand.
The crowd was able to be controlled by the backup officers.
Two people were taken into custody. The charges against the men are not clear.
The Director and CEO of Miami International Airport released a statement.
MIA is seeing record-high passenger numbers this winter. The passenger growth has resulted in a record-high increase in bad behavior as well, such as the incident this evening at MIA.
Potential federal prosecution, police arrest, civil penalties, and being banned from flying are some of the things that can happen to disruptive passengers. We worked so hard to recover from the Pandemic that we can visit our loved ones again.
It is recommended that you get to the airport early, be patient, comply with the federal mask law, limit your alcohol consumption, and call the police at the first sign of bad behavior.
This is happening at miami international.
