Man Utd players return to training after coronavirus outbreak

The players of Manchester United have begun their return to training after the facility was closed due to a coronaviruses outbreak.

Their training complex was shut for an initial 24 hour period last week after a number of cases within the squad forced their matches to be postponed.

Four players and staff members returned positive results from the tests after the win over the Canaries on December 11 and the results were confirmed by the tests a day later.

The rest of the squad trained outdoors before those individuals were sent home, with the schedule adjusted to individual and non-contact sessions.

Six of the 10 matches in the premier league last weekend were called off because of the coronaviruses, with a large number of positive cases recorded among players and staff at multiple clubs.

The shareholders' meeting concluded that games will continue to be played "where safely possible" despite calls for a circuit breaker.
