Liverpool's Andy Robertson is 'lucky to be walking'

Harry Kane was given a yellow card for his challenge on Andy Robertson.

Mark Clattenburg, a former referee in the premier league, said that Andy Robertson is lucky to be walking.

The left-back was on the end of a tackle from Harry Kane.

Robertson was shown a straight red for a foul on Royal that was reviewed by the VAR, after the referee only gave a yellow card.

"I think Kane's tackle is worse than Robertson's," said Clattenburg.

The fact that Robertson lifted his leg out of the way of Kane's tackle was one of the reasons why he wasn't dismissed.

Clattenburg told the Monday Night Club that if Robertson planted his leg, he wouldn't be walking this Christmas.

You're not doing your job correctly if you don't believe that this is a clear error about Kane.

"I think we are guilty of knowing the laws of the game but we don't understand them."

"VAR can't get this right." The referees have a split second. The VAR has all the angles, he can see the point of contact.

"If they are saying that his leg has to be planted, which is a new one to me, if the leg was high, it's reckless, he's lunged." He's endangering the opponent's safety.

Robbo is lucky that he's still walking. We should understand football because he won't leave his leg there. He doesn't want his career to be in doubt if his leg is broken.

Clattenburg was a referee for 13 years in the English premier league.

He said that the audio of VAR decisions are released in Greece.

People like it. They appreciate it even if they don't agree with it. I think that should happen.

We should be able to listen to the audio. We might not agree with it, but we would understand.

The officials booked the manager for his reaction to the decision not to send Kane off, and he told them he had no problem with them.

After the game, the German coach said he wanted to ask Mr. Tierney and whoever was the VAR if it was a red card. Robertson can be given a red card, but Harry should not have been on the field in the second half.

I understand if Mr. Tierney doesn't see it. The VAR was awake because he was told to look at Robertson again.

Kane said he thought he made a good tackle, but added that a few of the guys thought it looked worse than it was.

That's what the refs are there for, that's what the VAR is there for. There are going to be strong tackles when you're playing against this team.
