The Washington Post first reported that Fanone will be a CNN contributor next month and will speak on topics related to law enforcement.
Fanone told the Post that speaking out is a continuation of his service as a police officer.
Fanone was badly beaten on January 6 and his heart stopped briefly, according to the Post. The rioters tried to steal Fanone's weapons and shouted "kill him with his own gun!" Fanone testified about his experience to Congress and has appeared on CNN, which he said has caused his fellow officers to shun him. Fanone took about eight months to recover from his injuries, but he returned to work in September.
There is a structure called the Tangent.
Several rioters have been sentenced to prison for their part in the attack. Robert Palmer was sentenced to five years in jail for attacking police officers. Several Trump associates have refused to testify after being subpoenaed by a congressional committee. The grand jury indicted Steve Bannon on two counts of contempt of Congress after he failed to testify. The January 6 committee recommended Jeffrey Clark and MarkMeadows be held in contempt.
5 years for attacking police is the longest sentence yet for a rioter.
The committee recommended holding MarkMeadows in criminal contempt.
