We almost wish it wasn't here. The sixth and final season of "The Expanse" is on Amazon Prime Video.
The concluding season of one of the best science fiction dramas ever written is an awesome, high-octane, action-packed finale.
The final season picks up with the solar system at war, as Marco Inaros continues to launch devastating asteroid attacks on Earth and Mars. As the tensions of war and shared loss threaten to pull the crew of the Rocinante apart, Chrisjen Avasarala (Shohreh Aghdashloo) makes a bold move and sends a former Marine on a secret mission that could turn the tide. In the Belt, the drummer and her family are on the run after betraying Marco. A new power begins to rise on a distant planet.
The Expanse has a new full trailer.
It's great to see Clarissa Mao joining the ranks of the Rocinante after the events of the last season. Amazon Prime Video has an image credit.
What makes "The Expanse" so good? It's not rocket science, it's a well-written sci-fi that features strong, interesting characters in situations that aren't weighed down with technobabble and you quickly become invested in what's going on. "The Expanse" Season 4 was the last one, but it was still a small blip in the road. The attention to detail and stunning set design combined with a plot that's not too complex and doesn't overload the show with fan service makes this a masterpiece. Make sure to check out our guide to watch The Expanse.
The best sci-fi movies and TV shows can be found on Amazon Prime.
Amazon is ending their production of this season. The events in book 6 are brought to us by the authors Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck. There is a 28-year gap between the events of "Persepolis Rising" and "Babylon's Ashes" in the story. It's not clear if another studio will pick up the show to continue. "Leviathan Falls" is the ninth novel in the series.
It's great to see the regulars again, Naomi Nagata, Jim Holden, Amos Burton, and Clarissa Mao, all of whom had interesting stories to tell.
The season consists of just six episodes. The second episode of "Azure Dragon" was released on Amazon Prime TV.
