Jon Heyman of MLB Network said that the Oakland A's have found their next manager.

The deal's terms were not disclosed.

The Oakland managerial job became open when Bob Melvin agreed to a three-year deal with the San Diego Padres.

The A's didn't receive compensation for the move because they gave the 60-year-old permission to interview with the Padres.
After 11 years with the organization, Melvin leaves to take over in Oakland. He took over the A's on an interim basis after Bob Geren was fired.
Mack has more wins than any other A's player. They made the playoffs six times and won three division titles.
A player for four seasons in Oakland, Kotsay is familiar with the organization.
He moved into the coaching ranks after his playing career ended and was hired by the San Diego Padres as their hitting coach in 2015.
He was hired by the A's as their bench coach after one season with the Padres. He was the quality control coach for five seasons.
