The Associated Press women's college basketball poll is over, after a 16-year run in the top 10.

After losing to Louisville, the Huskies fell four spots to 11. Since March 7, 2005, when the team was 11th in the poll, the team has been ranked among the first 10 teams in the poll for 313 weeks. The next-longest streak was held by Tennessee.

The longest active streak is by No. 10 Baylor, which has 136 consecutive top 10 appearances.

South Carolina received all 29 first-place votes from a national media panel. The second 1- vs.-2 match of the season will be played on Tuesday. The Cardinal moved up one spot after their win at Tennessee. It's the 600th appearance in the AP Top 25 for Tara VanDerveer, who is 18 behind Pat Summitt.

Louisville, Arizona and NC State are in the top five. The Wolfpack lost in overtime to Georgia.

Maryland moved up three places. Tennessee, Indiana and Michigan followed the Terrapins. The Michigan team is in the top 10 for the first time after beating the Bears in overtime.

The victory over the then-No. Michigan had never faced a top-five team before.

"It hasn't sunk in yet, we beat a top-five team," Barnes Arico said after the overtime victory. It's a great win.

Still working.

The second-longest run in poll history is by the University of Connecticut, which has been ranked for 533 weeks. Since 1993, the Huskies haven't lost consecutive games. They don't play again until December. This is the first time since 2004 that the Huskies have had three losses before the new year.

The game of the week.

The game is between South Carolina and Stanford on Tuesday. The Cardinal have faced five ranked teams so far this season and are playing their first 1- vs.-2 game in four years. Five Top 25 teams have been beaten by the Gamecocks this season.
