According to a report, Baker Mayfield will not play in the game against the Las Vegas Raiders at FirstEnergy Stadium because of the NFL's COVID-19 protocols.

Nick Mullens will start at quarterback for the Raiders, as both Case Keenum and Baker Mayfield weren't able to clear protocols, according to Tom Pelissero.

Emily said that her husband did what he could to be cleared for the game.

The left shoulder issue that will require surgery in the off-season is one of the many injuries that Mayfield has battled. He's played through a lot of injuries.
He has posted 2,603 passing yards, 13 touchdown and seven interceptions, and has completed 62.8% of his passes.

Critics have criticized the injuries and inconsistent play. In early December, Mayfield told Kurt Warner that the noise has been external.

It comes down to trying to find an even balance of listening to the opinions of friends, family, and teammates that matter the most to you. It has not been just outside noise. I have to be myself and do my job. The guys that are close to me understand that. We need to take care of the building and I need to be myself.

There haven't been many dull moments for Baker in Cleveland. The injuries this year haven't made things any easier.
After signing with the team in September, Mullens will make his first start. He made 16 starts for the San Francisco 49ers.

Kyle Lauletta will be the backup on Monday.
