In June of this year, the Crystal Palace player joined Manchester United for £50m.

Wan-Bissaka was fined and banned from driving for six months.

He admitted at an earlier court hearing that he was disqualified and without insurance when he was stopped by police in Manchester.

Wan-Bissaka was due to go to trial in September 2020 for two speeding offenses.

The lawyer said the paperwork had gone to a previous home.

Wan-Bissaka was in a state of complete ignorance as notification letters had been sent to his previous home, according to Shaun Draycott.

Wan-Bissaka was banned from driving for six months after he failed to respond at the court.

His car was seized by police on the A34 in Manchester.

The footballer had six points on his licence from a conviction.

Mr Draycott told the court that when he was stopped on the A34, he was courteous and respectful to the officers.

He said Wan-Bissaka had been with Crystal Palace from the age of 11 and that he first hired an agent seven years later.

Football agents were responsible for all manners of personal services, according to the solicitor.

Mr Draycott said that arrangements had been made for Wan-Bissaka's agent to visit his former home in London.

This was to make sure his affairs were handled properly.

Mr Draycott said the property was being renovated at the time of the letters being sent.

The refurbishment issue may have caused some difficulty. He felt that matters had been put in hand and that he had to pay the price for that.

He accepted that Wan-Bissaka failed to notify the DVLA of his change of address.

At least six or seven letters would have been sent to the address, according to the District Judge.

He accepted that Wan-Bissaka was unaware he was disqualified.

The footballer was told by Judge Begley that he would have to reflect on whether it was wise for him to delegate the tasks.

Wan-Bissaka, who lives with his partner and child in Hale, Greater Manchester, was fined a total of £30,000 for driving while disqualified and failing to give information about speeding.

He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge fee and court costs.

There was no penalty for the insurance offence.
