Moderna says its COVID booster increases protection against omicron



Moderna said Monday preliminary data showed that the COVID-19 booster shot is effective against the omicron variant of the coronaviruses currently surging in the U.S.

The booster shot increases levels against omicron by 37 times compared to pre-booster levels, according to the pharmaceutical company.

Moderna said research showed a 100 microgram booster dose gave an 83-fold increase in neutralizing antibody levels.
