The transformation of the Dallas Cowboys from how people thought they would win games in 2021 to how they are winning games is staggering.

So much so that the quarterback and the defensive end decided to bet the rest of the season. It's scored versus created.

The Cowboys' defense has a 4-2 lead after Sunday's win against the Giants.

The Cowboys had four turnovers, three of which were returned for a touchdown, including a touchdown run by Ezekiel Elliott and a touchdown pass to Dalton Shultz.

"They obviously won this one, but we'll make sure it continues," he said. They're getting the ball. It's impressive that the front seven's are getting their hands on balls. It's great to be a part of it.

Jerry Jones was not aware of the wager and did not say what was on the line.

Jones said that he loved that. I've seen some of the most productive growth in teams when they've been doing a little gambling. The defense and the offense used to bet $50,000 a practice on 2-minute drills as to who would win. It's why they could say it was harder out there at the 2-minute practice than it was in the game.

The Cowboys' success was thought to be dependent on a high-powered, highly talented offense, but a defense that allowed a franchise-record

The league's leading passer, defensive back Trevon Diggs, doesn't want the qualification.

"We are the best defense, that's for sure," he said.

The defense was able to dominate New York even with the rookies not making a tackle. He had a half-tackle and a pass deflection in the official gamebook, ending his sack streak.

"This is how we created our identity," he said. We pride ourselves on playing hard-nosed football. It's a better game when we hold them out and make sure they don't score. I thought we did a great job.

The Dallas defense has 31 turnovers for the season, the most in three years. They have 23 picks, their most since 1999.

The Cowboys have allowed less than 20 points in five of the past six games. The Cowboys have recorded at least four turnovers in each of their three games this month, their longest streak since 1994.

Jones could not remember a Cowboys defense playing as well as the current unit in the past 10 years, and it's a unit that is just now getting Lawrence back to speed after a broken foot, Randy Gregory going after missing four games with a calf strain and Neville Gallimore playing in just Trysten Hill and Osa Odighizuwa were put on the reserve list on Saturday and did not play against the Giants.

"My whole point is if we can just stay healthy, keep bringing our guys that have been in rehab, and then we can get that offense, the nuances of that offense," Jones said.

Jones is confident that the offense will find its rhythm again. The running game was better with 125 yards on 30 carries by Tony Pollard, who returned after a one-game absence with a foot injury. The passing game was efficient but not great, and the offense scored on two of five red zone trips.

He isn't sure how to feel about the bet.

"We'll catch up, this thing is ongoing," he said. Hopefully not. Hopefully we don't catch up because I hope they keep rolling them.
