After the game, the team's worst fear was confirmed, as wide receiver Sterling Shepard went down with an apparent leg injury.

Shepard will miss the rest of the season after he tore his Achilles.

Shepard was hurt on a meaningless play with less than two minutes left in the game. He grabbed his lower left leg and fell to the ground after stepping off the line of scrimmage. Shepard was taken off the field on a cart.

The Giants lost the game by a score of 21-6. New York has lost to Dallas twice this season.

Shepard had two catches for 15 yards. He had 36 catches for 366 yards and one touchdown. Shepard missed seven games this year with injuries to his quad, calf, and both of his hamstrings.

Shepard's injury is the latest in a string of injuries to skill position players for the Giants. Running back Saquon Barkley, wide receiver Kadarius Toney, Kenny Golladay, and tight end Evan Engram are some of the players who have missed at least two games this year.

Next Sunday, the New York Jets will look to end their skid against the Philadelphia Eagles.
