Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp furious with officials after Spurs draw

Kane tackle 'a clear red card'.

There were lots of chances, a red card, and Harry Kane's first goal in ages in the 2-2 draw against the Reds. There is a lot of controversy.

Alan Shearer said the officials have been awful for a long time. The people running the VAR don't seem to be good enough.

The final game before Christmas was at the Spurs' stadium.

"I don't know what his problem is with me, I confronted him at the end of the game," said the Reds boss.

"That is two wrong decisions from him and one wrong decision against us."

The angry German wondered if anyone was in the video assistant referee office before Andy Robertson was sent off.

What happened in the game?

The foul by Royal on Jota should have resulted in a penalty.

Harry Kane scores Spurs' opener.

Kane catches Andy Robertson with a reckless sliding tackle. VAR doesn't upgrade it.

Diogo Jota equalises for the Reds.

Jota was pushed over by Royal in the box, but a penalty was not given.

The man is booked for dissent.

A penalty is not given when Spurs' Harry Winks is pushed over by Matip on the edge of the area.

Andy Robertson puts the Reds ahead, the ball hits Mohamed Salah's arm.

Son Heung-min equalises for Spurs.

Robertson was sent off by the VAR for kicking Emerson's legs after initially being shown a yellow card.

What did he say?

On Jota not winning a penalty and being booked, Mr. Tierney told me that Diogo stops because he wants the foul. If you want to shoot, you have to stop.

It is amazing. He had the best spot on the pitch, but didn't give it.

When you see the situation again, the VAR is there. Why is he stopping? I don't understand.

You will have to ask him what his problem is with me when I'm booked.

I was a bit more emotional in the game but the referee gives me a yellow card - but it is not allowed in a situation like this? I would have preferred the right decisions on the pitch, but he gave me a yellow card.

Kane was not sent off, that is a clear, 100% red card. I need to ask Mr. Tierney and whoever was the VAR. Harry should not have been on the field in the second half.

If Andy Robertson's leg is still on the ground, it's broken. The ref saw it differently than we did, so it is still a red card.

He is a really good boy but he lost it a little bit when he got the red card.

"This red card you can give, but is there proof that the VAR was there today because we thought he might not be in his office because of the two other situations?"

You don't need a ref that helps you. You need a ref who is objective. He was right in three decisions and wrong in two. The three were against us.

What about the view from Spurs?

Kane thought it was a good tackle.

"My staff said to me that it was incredible to give the second goal and not to disallow it because there was a clear handball from Salah," said Antonio Conte.

We have to talk about refereeing decisions at the end. I don't think that is good for anyone.

Kane didn't think he should have been booked.

He thought it was a good tackle at the time. It might look worse when you slow it down. That's what VAR is there for.

There are going to be strong tackles in this game. I was not worried. I was surprised to be booked.

What did the pundits say about the decision?

"What we need from VAR is accountability, we don't hear from them," said Ray Houghton.

People in a room make decisions. Why they make a decision is not put on the table.

"That's why you get situations where he is angry." He could have been sent off. He has seen a possible red card and a penalty not given.

"I thought the VAR was supposed to make a correct decision," said the ex-Wales player. I'm getting fed up again.

"What frustrates me is the consistency," said Chris. One rule for Spurs and one rule for Reds.

Jamie Carragher said on Sky Sports that he couldn't condone speaking to a referee but managers were emotional. It was a blatant penalty and we want managers to be honest and emotional. The man should have been sent off.

We were not happy with the VAR a year or two ago, but we are okay with it at the moment. What is the point of VAR with penalties? It is who controls it.

He just barges him on the penalty that wasn't given. Get some opinion from the VAR. A former player would say that is not a penalty. It is a joke.
