It will be the first time in his four-year career that Lamar Jackson misses a game because of an injury.

Even though Jackson hadn't practiced all week with an injured ankle, the Ravens were still hopeful that he would play. Tyler Huntley will make his second career start for the Ravens.

A source told Adam that Jackson is dealing with a bone bruise in his ankle and not an ankle injury, which is what the Ravens had been referring to. It would be difficult for Jackson to play behind the Ravens offensive line. The Baltimore Ravens have allowed a league-worst 47 sacks and have three starters missing at least one practice this week.

The Ravens offense has been hurt by the loss of Jackson and is currently scoring 16.6 points per game. Baltimore is without its starting quarterback, top two running backs, three starting offensive linemen, and one of its top three wide receiver on Sunday.

Huntley has impressed his teammates with his limited action. He led Baltimore to a 16-13 win in Chicago four weeks ago, and nearly rallied the team from 21 points down last Sunday in a 24-22 loss in Cleveland. Huntley has completed 68.2% of his throws for one touchdown and one interception, and he has run for 95 yards on 16 attempts, which is 5.9 yards per carry. Josh Johnson was signed to the New York Jets practice squad.

Jackson was hurt on the first play of the second quarter when Owosu- Koramoah dove at the quarterback after he threw a pass. He has been contacted 16 times per game this season, the highest single-season rate by a quarterback in the last 15 years.

The Ravens are 2-1 in games without Jackson. He missed two games because of illness, and then sat out the season finale after Baltimore had already won the top seed.

Without Jackson, the Ravens are short-handed in the secondary. Cornerbacks Chris Westry and Jimmy Smith and safety Chuck Clark were the three defensive backs who tested positive.

The Ravens are now a 9.5-point favorite. The Ravens have been a big home favorite since December 2015, when they upset the PittsburghSteelers as a 10-point favorite.
