NIH director says holiday travel for people who aren't vaccinated against COVID-19 is 'not a great idea'

Francis Collins, the director of the National Institute of Health, said that holiday travel for people who aren't vaccine-vaccinated is not advised.

Dr. Collins told CBS's "Face the Nation" that those traveling this winter should be careful.

Collins said that travel is not a good idea because you are in a very vulnerable place now with Omicron.

The director of the National Institute of Health advised travelers who have been boosted against COVID-19 to take precautions, reminding them to wear their masks and avoid large indoor gatherings.

According to Insider, Dr. Fauci said that people who have received the vaccine can still enjoy a social gathering.

Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and the Chief Medical Advisor to the President, said that if you arevaccinated, you can still enjoy a social gathering in a home.

Fauci said that he would be able to get on an airplane for the holidays. I'm protected by the vaccine. I'm feeling better. I know we have to wear a mask.

Fauci warned that the current situation can change quickly.

Fauci said that if the counts keep going up, then they may need to be more restrictive. People who are boosted should feel comfortable right now.
