The game between the Philadelphia 76ers and New Orleans Pelicans was postponed due to injuries and health and safety protocols.
The NBA confirmed the decision to call off the game after a report from Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium that the game was "in jeopardy" after the 76ers placed two players into the NBA's health and safety protocols.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski, there is "optimism" that Philadelphia will be able to play against Boston.
Three other 76ers were unavailable for the game, while Danny Green and Tyrese Maxey were questionable because of injuries.
The protocols were put into place by the 76ers Wednesday. Furkan Korkmaz missed his third game in a row with a non-COVID-19 illness.
In the second half of Wednesday's loss to the Miami Heat, Embiid rolled his ankle. He played 33 minutes against the Nets.
Maxey had a quad contusion. Doc Rivers held him out of the loss to the Nets.
Philadelphia's only starting players not dealing with an injury or illness at the moment are Curry and Harry. There are five reserves, including Charles Bassey.
The NBA requires a minimum of eight players. The Brooklyn Nets were in the same situation before their game against the Toronto Raptors.
The Nets had eight players in uniform, but Kevin Durant was upgraded to give them more.
The first game of a back-to-back is against the Pelicans. They don't play again until December 23 against the Hawks.
