Spider-Man: No Way Home is Sony's Best Box Office Debut

It is crazy to see how much this movie made for being out in a small amount of time. No Way Home has become the third biggest global opener of all time and Sony's biggest movie ever with $587.2 million at time of writing. The movie got a head start by releasing a few days earlier in the UK and Ireland, and that word of mouth made people want to see it more. It is the sixth best opening of the year and the sixth film to cross the $500 million mark at launch. The film is not currently available in China.

It is currently the highest grossing movie of the year at $253 million and the third best domestic opener. No Way Home is only a couple million away from taking second place, which was held by Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

If your name was Peter Parker, people wouldn't be interested in seeing your movie. It was bad for the movie, which opened in fifth place domestically and earned $3 million. No Way Home is going to have a long, potentially billion-dollar legs even with Matrix in a couple days.
