Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley were going to fight on Saturday night. Paul had a split decision victory over the former UFC champion in August. The opportunity for a second fight arose after Tommy Fury dropped out of the fight due to a broken rib and a severe chest infection.
After their first fight, the two agreed to a second fight if the other got a tattoo that said, "I love Jake Paul." When Fury dropped out, Paul and Woodley quickly set off on the path for a second fight, even though Paul had a tattoo on his middle finger.
Paul said that the second one made sense. It didn't make sense to fight Tommy Fury when I was already fighting him. He was the only one that could sell pay-per-views. I can't just go in there and fight a journeyman.
Paul had knocked out all of his opponents in his young boxing career, except for Woodley, and he boasted a perfect record in his young career. After the fight, Paul wanted to restart that streak.
The loser of the fight would get revenge by cashing in on a $500,000 incentive and knocking out Paul.
In the end, Paul once again dominated and followed through on his promise of starting a new knockout streak with a knockout early in the sixth round.
The decision on the sequel fight was final, and lots of stars shared their thoughts.
