CBS News reported Friday that the Pentagon confirmed that two more people traveling with Secretary of State Antony Blinken had tested positive for the disease.
The trip to Thailand came to a halt after one of the reporters in the press pool tested positive for the drug.
The State Department did not announce that two members of the Air Force flight crew also tested positive, and only acknowledged the cases in response to inquiries by CBS.
A senior State Department official told CBS that one of the Air Force flight crew members had a positive test result.

The State Department told CBS that every member of the traveling party was required to take several COVID-19 tests throughout the trip, but that Department of Defense personnel do not have to undergo the same testing regime and can get waivers to avoid having to test in each country.
According to the State Department press release on Friday, additional members of the crew tested positive, but they did not mention that the crew was supposed to visit the United Kingdom, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Hawaii.
The Department of Defense and the State Department did not respond to Insider's requests for comment.
