Memphis vs. Tennessee among several men's basketball games called off because of COVID-19 issues

The men's college basketball game between Memphis and Tennessee has been postponed because of COVID-19 protocols within the program.

The game was canceled before the start. The game was called off at 9:54 a.m. with several hundred fans in attendance. The game was supposed to be played at 11 a.m. The arena was not entered by Memphis players. It was not clear how many players were in the protocols.

The game was to be played in Nashville, which is about halfway between the two programs' campuses.

Barnes decided to hold an scrimmage for fans.

It was one of several games that were called off because of coronaviruses. Northeastern's game against Vermont was canceled.

The Temple-Drexel game was postponed just over an hour before tipoff due to issues within the Dragons' program.

The game will be re-scheduling at a later date.

Colorado State pulled out of a game against Alabama on Tuesday night after canceling a game against Tulsa on Saturday.

More than 20 men's and women's basketball games have been canceled or postponed this season because of COVID-19 protocols.
