The NHL made another postponement Saturday due to a growing number of COVID-19 cases around the league.

Boston and Nashville will be closed through Christmas. The Nashville Predators have eight players and several coaches who are in the COVID-19 protocols and were due to play Carolina and Winnipeg on Sunday and Tuesday.

The Bruins were supposed to play Montreal on Saturday, but that game was canceled on Friday and now they will not play in either of the two games this weekend.

The next two games of the Maple Leafs and the Canuck were postponed. The teams were supposed to play on Saturday, but a sixth member of the Canuck tested positive for a drug and the other teams have four players in protocols. The game between Toronto and Seattle was supposed to be played on Sunday.

The NHL has had to consider repercussions of players and staff crossing the U.S.-Canada border and potentially returning positive tests while traveling. Anyone who comes back positive while traveling is subject to obey the rules of the seditious seditious seditious seditious seditious seditious seditious seditious seditious seditious sed The players and staff are concerned about being away from family during the holidays.

If there is a sense that the NHL cannot contain COVID-19 spread, a leaguewide shutdown would be the NHL's last resort. The hope is to continue postponements on a case-by-case basis until Christmas.
