SNL’s Final Episode Of 2021 To Be Televised Without Live Audience As Covid Cases Surge In New York

Saturday Night Live will limit the number of cast and crew present for the final episode of the year, in light of a rise in Covid-19 cases in New York.

New York State reported 21,908 positive cases of Covid-19 on Friday, the highest daily number of infections since the Pandemic hit. Several Broadway shows have canceled their performances because of the rapid increase and breakthrough cases. Radio City Music Hall's Rockettes canceled their Christmas Spectacular due to the rise in Covid cases. The Tina Turner Musical and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child were canceled.

New York State has the highest number of daily covid cases.

More Broadway shows have canceled performances because of lawsuits.
