Designers Margaret Weis and Tracy and Laura Hickman created the setting of Dragonlance. The relationship between Wizards of the Coast and the creators seemed to have soured in late 2020 and the creators were considering a lawsuit. The novels the trio were working on can now see the light of day because of the settlement of the lawsuit.
The first book in the upcoming series, Dragons of Deceit, was revealed by Del Rey. The novel will introduce a new character, who thinks that she's going to get a good fortune. During the War of the Lance, her father's death left her without the family estate and castle. She will go to the kender of "A Stone's Throw Away", Tasslehoff Burrfoot, who appeared in 1984's "A Stone's Throw Away", to help her get back to the past.
The last novel for Dragonlance was Douglas Niles' The Fate of Thorbardin, which was published in 2010. The series introduced fans to the world of Krynn, which has since appeared in many D&D publications.
The wraparound cover features a view of excitement and adventure on the horizon, as well as a group of people on top of a hill. Also a young dragon.
