Elon Musk Shares Video of Starship Steering Its Mighty Engines

The brush with the bankruptcy may be fading. The company's giant Starship flexing the steering system for its engines, a sign that its development may be back on track, was shared by CEO Musk on Friday.

The short clip shows the engines moving in a dance routine. Musk gave an update on the engines that will be needed to take cargo, passengers and more to the Moon.

Each engine above produces 185 metric tons of force. Raptor 2 will do over half a million pounds of force, and it just started production.

Space.com says that each Starship will need a lot of Raptors. Each will need 33 for the Super Heavy booster and six more for the upper-stage Starship that will carry it into space. That is a lot of engine production, considering that the company hopes to produce more than 1,000 of the ships to colonize Mars.

Chapter 13

A leaked Musk email last month described a dire situation at the company in which slowed production could cause it to go bankrupt. Musk said in the email that he needs to achieve a launch rate of one launch every two weeks in the next year to stave off financial disaster.

The video could be seen as a sign that things are moving toward production and a steady launch. Or it could be a video to make employees and watchers not panic since the email went public.

We hope the company can avoid a dire financial fate, but we do like to watch the sync steering engines.

There is more on the financial trouble of the company.
