What is included in the recall?
Although P&G says benzene isn't an ingredient in any of their products, inspectors found "unexpected levels of benzene that came from the propellant that sprays the product out of the can." P&G has not received any reports of illness or injury related to the recalled products, and is conducting the recall out of an abundance of caution.
Old Spice and Hair Food discontinued their aerosol dry shampoo products, but they were not the only ones that were recalled. They were all made in the US.
A full list of recalled products can be found on the FDA notice. P&G notes that these are the only hair care products that have been recalled.
If you have recalled products, what should you do?
If you've purchased any of the recalled products, the FDA says to throw them out. The P&G Consumer Care team can be reached from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. You can get more information on how to receive reimbursement.
