Klay Thompson is targeting a January return, which will make the Golden State Warriors even stronger.
The shooting guard is expected to return at a home game in January. It is possible but less likely to return on January 3.
Thompson had an injury in November of 2020. The last time the talented player was on the court for Golden State was when he tore his knee in the NBA Finals.
Thompson is one of the top two-way guards in the NBA.
The five-time All-Star averaged at least 20 points per game in each of the last three seasons, helping the Warriors win three NBA titles in five Finals appearances.
Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson made one of the best shooting backcourts in NBA history. He was one of the top perimeter defenders in the league.
Golden State could have a slow start as Thompson recovers from his injuries, but getting him back on the floor would be a significant development for the Warriors, who entered Friday tied with the Phoenix Suns for a league-best 23-5 record.
The backcourt trio of Curry, Andrew and Jordan have made it difficult to defend.
The Warriors have the highest defensive efficiency in the NBA at 100.2 points allowed per 100 possessions.
Adding Thompson to this rotation could make Golden State a heavy favorite to win the title.
