Robert Palmer threw a fire extinguisher, a pole and a plank at the Capitol Building officers.

Palmer lied on an online appeal that he did "go on the defense" when he threw the fire extinguisher at the police.

Palmer admitted that he was not shot before attacking the officers, but the judge found this lie to be a sign that he had not taken responsibility for his actions.

Chutkan extended Palmer's sentence to a range of 63 to 78 months due to his lying, ultimately landing him on a 63-month term.

Chutkan said to Palmer that the people working in the Capitol were patriots. They didn't know if they were going to come out of there alive.
