Christian Eriksen: Inter Milan terminate Danish midfielder's contract by mutual consent

Inter Milan terminated Christian Eriksen's contract after he was suspended from playing due to having a cardiac device fitted.

During the opening game of the European Championship in June, Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest and received life-saving treatment on the pitch.

Local health regulations prevent the 29-year-old from playing in Italy with an implanted cardioverter-defibrillator. He could continue his career in another country where the rules are different.

Inter and the entire family wish Christian well for his future.

The bond between Inter and Christian will never be broken. The good times, the goals, the victories, those Scudetto celebrations with fans outside San Siro - all this will stay in the history of the Nerazzurri.

During the European Championship match against Finland on June 12th, Christian Eriksen had a cardiac arrest on the pitch and has not played since.

His team-mates formed a wall around him as he was resuscitated. He had a type of pacemaker fitted in the hospital.

His contract with Inter was due to expire in 2024, but he joined in 2020. The Inter player scored eight goals and played 60 matches for the club.

The club where he started his career, Odense Boldklub, is where he resumed training recently.
