Max Johnson, a former starting quarterback at LSU, plans to transfer to Texas A&M.

Jake Johnson, the younger brother of Johnson's brother, signed with the Aggies earlier this week.

The son of Brad Johnson, Max emerged as LSU's starter as a freshman late in the 2020 season, leading the Tigers to wins on the road at Florida and at home against Ole Miss.

As a sophomore, Max threw 27 touchdown and six interceptions.

Ed Orgeron parted ways with the program after the end of the regular season. Brian Kelly is the new coach of Notre Dame.

Less than a week after Kelly was introduced as the 34th head coach at LSU, Max announced that he would enter the portal.

The Texas A&M quarterback helped the team beat a ranked team. On Monday, he announced that he would enter the portal.

Haynes King, who started the season as the starter but was injured in Week 2 and hasn't played since, is expected to return to the lineup.

Texas A&M signed the top pocket passer in the class of 2022.
