Eric Clapton Wins Suit Against Woman Selling Bootleg CD on eBay

A woman in Germany who listed a bootleg CD on eBay was sued by Eric Clapton. According to the German news outlet, the woman will have to pay at least $2,000 in court costs for violating the Copyright Act.

A woman from Ratingen, a small German town about an hour north of Cologne, was sued by a noted racist and anti-vaxxer for using his copyrighted material. The widow said that her late husband bought the CD at a department store, but the court didn't care if it was legal or not.

The woman tried to sell the CD for just 9.95, or $11.20 U.S. She is being forced to pay legal fees for herself and her partner, which is about 3,400 or $3,500 in U.S. dollars. If she tries to sell the music again, she will face up to six months in prison and hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines.

Aggressive legal action like this is unsurprising because the British-born guitarist is known for being a prick. In 1976, Eric Clapton went on a racist rant on stage in England about keeping Britain white.

Britain should not become a black colony. Get the foreigners out of the country. Get the people out. Get the coons out. Keep Britain white. I used to be a fan of drugs, but now I am a fan of racism. It is much heavier, man. Man, fuck you. Saudis are taking over London. At the concert, Clapton said that he was Bastard.

The term "wog" is a British term for anyone who isn't white. That wasn't the only thing. Powell said that white people were strange in their own country because of immigration.

Britain is becoming overcrowded and will be sent back. The black wog and coons and Arabs and Jamaicans don't belong here.

We don't want any black people or coons living in England. They are not welcome. England is for white people. We are a white country.

In the late 1980's, he apologized for his rant, but he also whined about vaccine mandates and refused to play concerts unless unvaccinated people were allowed to attend. Van Morrison and Eric Clapton wrote a song about how the men were being mistreated because of covid-19 lock ups.

The song, titled Stand and Deliver, likens public health measures to slavery with inane lyrics.

Stand and deliver.
>
You allow them to put fear on you.
>
Stand and deliver.
>
Not a word you heard was true.
>
You can say nothing if there is nothing.
>
There may be nothing you can do.
>
Do you want to be free?
>
Do you want to be a slave?

The UK reported the highest number of new covid-19 cases on Thursday. It is going to get worse before it gets better. The bootleg CD was kept off of eBay. Slow hand, good work. We can all rest easy because the world is a better place now.
