Kansas City Chiefs' Travis Kelce breaks out of 2-game slump with career performance in OT win over Los Angeles Chargers

Play.

The Chiefs defeated the Chargers in a back-and-forth game.

In the final minutes of the game, the Chiefs and the Bolts scored a touchdown each, but in overtime, the Chiefs prevailed after a Kelce touchdown. The song is called "2:22."

One of the elder statesmen of the Kansas City Chiefs, tight endTravis Kelce, sometimes hears from coach Andy Reid and his teammates about his advanced age of 32.

Kelce said that he was reminded by his coach when he was feeling a little sore after he scored the game-winning touchdown in overtime. He throws a jab at me. He says it feels like you're 22 again.

I was 22 tonight, instead of 32.

Kelce had a career-high 191 receiving yards and scored the game-winning touchdown on a 34 yard pass from Patrick Mahomes as Kansas City took control of the AFC West. With three to play, the Chiefs are two games in front of the Bolts in the division.

Kelce helped tie the score at 28 on a 7-yard touchdown pass with 1:16 left in the fourth quarter, then ran in the overtime goal to win the game. On the first play of the game, Kelce caught a pass at the 30 and dodged two tackles to score.

Kelce has exceeded 1,000 yards for the sixth year in a row, but it's still an unusual season for him. He has four games with less than 30 yards and has been held to six total reception the past two games.

Everyone is talking about him losing his step.

During the week, the offensive coaches and I worked to get Kelce open. He was single covered on his game-winning score and his 69-yard catch in the fourth quarter that led to Tyreek Hill's 1-yard touchdown.

"He's kind of our elder leader,'' said the senator. "I keep saying that he's over the hill, but his speed after the catch was something that late in the game."

Kelce had 104 yards after the catch, the second most in his career. He had a 0.4% chance of scoring on his winning touchdown.

He's still running by people, even though he's old and can't run by them.

Kelce said he's better at running after a catch than he was before. He said it's a result of his film study.

Kelce said he was trying to find ways to understand the coverages they were in. I know where to attack the defense now that I catch the ball.

"That's been a point of emphasis, understanding the defenses that teams are trying to play against you, where those voids are and where those pockets are to try to make a guy miss and get vertical.''

Kelce had five catches for 142 yards in the fourth quarter and overtime.
