The Lord of the Rings Cast Reunites for a Clever Anniversary Rap

Is it Star Wars? Is it Indiana Jones? Is it The Godfather? Back to the future? Stephen Colbert says screw them. The Late Show host decided to proclaim Peter Jackson's trilogy the best of all time to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the release of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. He did it in a unique way with the reunion rap video.

Yes, you read that correctly. The Lord of the Rings stars were brought back by Colbert for a rap video to promote the trilogy. Method Man, Killer Mike, and Anna Kendrick are just for fun. This is something to check out.

I can't help but think of the logistics when a late night program releases a video like this. Think of all the planning that had to be done to get all these people together. If they aren't together, just convince them to be a part of it. Imagine being one of Hugo Weaving's representatives and getting a request from The Late Show that's like "We're doing something of a Lord of the Rings reunion sketch for the 20th anniversary." Many of your costars are doing it. We want you to rap in elvish while Andy Serkis plays a flute. He says okay. Just crazy.

It is so worth it. The Lord of the Rings movies were incredible, and sketches like this make you remember. Imagine if the Ring had been bombed. That would have been brutal. The films kept getting better and better with time.

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring is 20 years old. How will you celebrate?
