The tours of the memorial at Pearl Harbor are suspended while the site is repaired. The photo was taken by the National Park Service.

Repairs to a dock at the site have caused the suspension of boat tours of the memorial.

The shoreside dock had an issue that the National Park Service staff was aware of. Repairs to the dock began Dec. 15 after an assessment. Navy personnel decided to remove the damaged dock ramp via crane and repair it at an off-site facility.

The public programs via the U.S. Navy have been suspended while the repairs are being completed. The Navy will conduct stress tests after the dock is fixed to make sure it is safe.

When the National Park Service deems the conditions safe enough for the white boats to use the shoreside dock, operations will resume.

The boat tours of the memorial to the more than 1,000 crew members who died in the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor have been suspended for the third time in four years due to dock issues. The tours were halted for 15 months as a repair was done. Emergency repairs caused tours to be suspended again in September.
