According to reports, Apple told staff on Wednesday that it was postponing a return to offices for corporate workers until an unknown date.

A memo from Apple CEO Tim Cook said that the company would give workers a month's head up before implementing a new return date, and that staffers would get $1000 bonuses to outfit their home offices. According to the reports, Apple had planned for most employees to return to work on Feb. 1.

The return to office date is not yet determined, according to an Apple spokesman.

The employees were told earlier this month that they wouldn't have to come back into the office on January 10. The return to office dates of other tech companies have been pushed back.

Concerns about rising Covid cases and the Omicron variant have led to the delay.

Most of Apple's stores are open for business despite the fact that some employees have returned to the office.

Apple has continued to introduce new products and increase sales, despite the fact that the company has historically emphasized in-person collaboration.

Apple closed three stores and required customers to wear masks in the U.S., in response to rising Covid cases. Covid tests are available to Apple's staffers.
