He will join the team on a 10-day contract.

In the month of April last year, Thomas played three games for the New Orleans Pelicans. Thomas signed with the Grand Rapids Gold, the Denver Nuggets' G League team, after he was unable to land with another team.

Thomas has played for many teams in his career. He was traded to the Lakers midway through the last season. During his first stint with the team, Thomas was limited to 17 games because of hip surgery.

Thomas was a two-time All-Star in three seasons with the Boston Celtics. Thomas was named to the second-team All-NBA after scoring a career-high 28.9 points.
The NBA player has dealt with hip issues throughout his career, playing in just 87 games since the last season. On Wednesday, Thomas looked like he was in good shape.

The Lakers won their third consecutive game on Wednesday night, beating the Dallas Mavericks in overtime.
