Harris Says She And Biden Haven’t Discussed If He’ll Run In 2024 Days After White House Said He Will

The White House confirmed Monday that Biden will run for reelection in 2024, but Vice President Harris told the Wall Street Journal that she and the president haven't discussed it.

Harris and Biden have yet to reach the one-year mark of their term, but they are focused on the Covid-19 epidemic.

When asked about the president running for reelection, Psaki said the president has every intention of doing so.

Biden aides told the Washington Post last month he intends to run again, though Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell, who attended a fundraiser at which Biden reportedly told donors he would be running, clarified that he will not run if he feels he can't do the job physically or emotionally.

CNN reported last month that the Biden and Harris camps were not happy with each other, with several of Harris' staffers who spoke anonymous saying that Biden hasn't done enough to position Harris as a successor or a validator if he decides to run again.

Sources told CNN that the Biden administration had largely ignored the vice president. People around Harris are hesitant to talk about her political ambitions because of the thought of disloyalty towards the president. According to unnamed sources, if Biden were to defeat Trump, he would hand the position to his then-undetermined vice president. In August 2020, Biden said he could serve eight years if he were elected. Biden would be 86 years old by the end of his second term.
