Louisiana Gov. Says Judge Who Repeatedly Used N-Word In Video Should Resign

Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards joined a growing chorus of calls for a local judge to resign after video surfaced of her using racist language.

The Current published a video on Monday in which the judge can be heard using the n-word.

The suspect in a home invasion was later arrested after his family members chased him down.

In an interview with the Current, she claimed that she was given a sedative at the time of the video and that she has no recollection of making the comments.

The Lafayette NAACP chapter and the Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus both asked for her to step down.

According to Forbes, the judge is "humiliated, embarrassed, and sorry for what she has done" but stopped short of saying she planned to resign.

"Especially among members of the judiciary who have the most important role in the administration of the justice in our state, there is no place for that kind of language," he said.
