Zion has received an injection in his foot to help with the healing process.
Once further scans on the foot can be done, Williamson will be re-evaluated in 3-6 weeks.
He traveled to Los Angeles to meet with a doctor. Ferkel, along with the team doctors, gave him the injection on Wednesday.
Willie Green said after practice on Thursday that he had spoken to him but that it had been frustrating for everyone.
It's been difficult for him and his family. We are continuing to navigate. We want to be positive. It's something that he's dealing with and we're all dealing with as an organization. We have to keep going. It's been difficult.
For an extended period, the team says, Williamson will be limited to low-impact, partial weight-bearing activities.
The NBA has yet to see the player who broke his foot in the summer.
The Pelicans are 9-21 in his absence and just won a game against Oklahoma City.
