New York City Cops Suspected of Faking Vaxx Cards, Stripped of Badges

Two NYPD officers faked vax documents and submitted them to the NYPD. The police department has demoted them to desk duty and stripped them of their guns and badges. They are the newest representatives of the cop contingent that is often seen without a mask on subways, some of which are accused of shoving a critical rider out of a subway station for questioning their refusal to follow the simple safety rule.

New York City covid-19 hospitalizations are up 48 percent over a two week period.

Police unions reported that almost a third of officers were still unvaccinated just before the October 29th vaccine deadline. Bill de Blasio claimed that 84 percent of NYPD employees were vaccine free, but only 34 had been put on leave for not following the rule. A federal judge refused to block the city's mandate after the largest New York City police union sued.

The New York Post reported that the officers were Lieutenant Joseph Marsella and Captain Desmond Morales. A high-ranking police source told the outlet that many people are being summonsed by the Attorney General and FBI.

In an email, the NYPD said that the Internal Affairs Bureau is looking into the matter.

We were clear from the beginning that vaccine compliance was a serious matter. It is not just about the individual NYPD employee's health, but also the health of their coworkers and others around them. We worked on a process. The process for applying for an exemption and a two-level appeals process was included.

City employees were required to get the vaccine by 5pm on October 29th or be put on leave. NYPD employees had filed for religious or medical exemptions at a rate of almost 6200 by November 12th.

The NYPD says that if the investigation finds that the two officers substituted false documentation to the department, it is a serious violation of integrity and the law.

The Post, the outlet most tapped into NYPD sources, hints at a possible scam.
