The head coach of Jackson State denied the reports of a contract for a top recruit to go to the school.

"That's the biggest lie I've ever heard," he said. "That means we kicked your butt, we took what was ours, and now you have to explain why." Nobody got a million and a half. I wouldn't pay my son a lot of money.

Hunter said Wednesday he would attend Jackson State after previously committing to Florida State.

Hunter is the top ranked player in the class of 2022. The 6'1" athlete plays both receiver and defensive back and has the potential to excel at both positions at the next level.

He shocked the world when he chose to play for an HBCU, even though he had scholarship offers from nearly every top program in the country.

The move caused immediate speculation about a payoff, but it wasn't true.

Hunter enjoyed going to Jackson State's game, and it was a normal recruiting situation.

The Tigers have been doing well under the leadership of Sanders. The squad won the SWAC title for the first time in seven years.

Hunter is the first 5-star prospect to sign with an NCAA school since 2006 according to Tom VanHaaren.
